At the Miss Teen USA pageant two weeks ago, 18 year old Miss Teen South Carolina, Lauren Caitlin Upton was read a question from Aimee Teegarden, who plays a precocious, articulate teenager on the NBC show “Friday Night Lights.” Ms. Teegarden asked, “Recent polls have shown a fifth of Americans can’t locate the U.S. on a world map. Why do you think this is?” Ms. Upton offered a rambling and largely incoherent answer, and became a YouTube star.
